How to Easily Replace a Damaged Window Screen| Phifer Inc.

Today I'm going to show you how to replace a damaged window screen. The tools you need are a screen mouse or a spline roller, a roll of spline, a utility knife and a roll of masking tape. Start by taping down all of the outside edges of the frame so that it doesn't move when working to replace the screen. Make sure you place the tape where it doesn't interfere with the frame's spline groove. Next, roll up the screen to the size of your frame and cut the screen slightly larger than your frame. Take the spline through the spline mouse from back to front and simply roll it around the front roller. Once you've placed the spline in the spline mouse, put the spline in the corner of the frame and press firmly into the spline groove.
Make sure the mouse roller is lined up with the frame spline groove. And continue to roll, pushing firmly along the spline groove. Be sure to keep the screen in line with the frame. At the corners, either cut the spline or turn the corner by adjusting the spline with your fingers and lining the screen mouse roller back up with the spline groove. Line up the screen and then press firmly as you roll. Once the spline in screen are rolled and completed on two sides of the frame, continue rolling the remaining two sides by applying some tension on the screen. Next, you use the back side of the utility knife blade and press in the corner of the spline. When the screen and the spline is secure in the spline groove, use the utility knife to trim the excess screen, being careful not to cut the newly installed screen fabric. Congratulations! You have now completed a finished window screen
