The heart of the New Maserati MC20 Cielo is the revolutionary new Nettuno engine, a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that delivers 630 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, with 730 Nm of torque @ 3,000-5,500 rpm. Maserati’s Nettuno is the first engine intended for a road car to use an innovative pre-chamber combustion system with twin spark plugs, a technology derived from Formula 1 competitions.
Ferrari Roma 2024 is provided by the same 612bhp 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as in the coupé to the rear axle through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Despite the lack of a roof and therefore added drag, extensive aerodynamic tweaks – such as an active spoiler and a curved roofline – enable the Spider to match the coupé’s 0-62mph time of 3.4sec and top speed of 199mph.
