Continuing his Official Visit to the Philippines on 10 January 2024, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia conducts a site visit at Kopiko Philippines Corporation (KPC) - Laguna Plant in Calamba, an Indonesian investment in the country.
Kopiko, a leading coffee mix brand developed to cater to Filipinos' preference, is manufactured by the Mayora Group. Its parent company, PT Mayora Indah Tbk, is an Indonesia-listed food and beverage company founded in 1977. Its first factory was located in Tangerang, with its initial target market of Jakarta and the surrounding areas. By 1990, it was listed as a public company catering to a wider market in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
According to the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat (presidenri.go.id), President Widodo notes the large number of coffee products produced by the KPC. He expresses hopes for the industry to make a positive impact to Indonesian farmers in providing raw materials for the production.
To date, Mayora has expanded its market share to Asian nations and its products are widely distributed to more than 90 countries.
Other than Kopiko, among its other well-known brands are Danisa, Roma, Energen, Torabika, Beng Beng and many others.
