In wet conditions your tires become less effective in gripping the road and the stopping distance is at least double when compared to stopping in dry conditions.
In rain plan your manoeuvres early and keeps a safe distance from the vehicle in-front, including bicycles, motorcycles, horses and pedestrians. If your steering becomes too rigid, ease off the accelerator and slow down gradually.
If your vision becomes impaired use your windscreen wiper, inspect your front and rear wipers before setting off on your journey.
Avoid splashes from puddles because it could make it difficult to see other vehicles and for them to see you, thus increasing the likelihood of a collision. Also, deep puddles can cause hydro-lock when water floods the cylinder and thus causing the engine to fail.
