Preconditioning plays a vital role in the overall feed manufacturing process of many products, including dry expanded pet foods, pet food treats, poultry feeds, sinking and floating aquatic feeds.
The main functions of the preconditioner:
- mixing of multiple ingredients and hydrating the dry mash
- precooking, which begins gelatinization of starches and denaturation of proteins,
- thermal energy addition, in the form of steam;
- pH adjustment, important for certain chemical and physical reactions.
The EXTRUDER with preconditioner is designed for production of:
* pellet mixed feed chunks for poultry and pets (cats and dogs), predators and fish;
* textured or texturized vegetable protein(TVP), also known as
* textured soy protein (TSP), soy meat or soya chunks and nuggets;
* mixed sub humid feed in pellet form for livestock, domestic animals, pets, predators, poultry and fish, shrimps and crustaceans
