NEWS never stops so there’s always plenty for busy broadcasters to be getting their teeth stuck into, but, in an awkward moment caught live on air, one news presenter appeared rather bored waiting for the broadcast to start.

Unaware the camera had started rolling, the BBC new presenter is caught resting her head in her palm, scrolling through what looks like a phone with the other hand.

The camera slowly zooms in on her and she still doesn’t notice.

By this point, we might expect her to be reordering the pieces of paper in front of her or having a drink of water, preparing for the broadcast, but she continues to be more occupied with her phone.

Five seconds after she’s gone live on air, the news reporter suddenly realises or is prompted by another member of staff that the show has gone live.

She suddenly looks up, and startled by the cameras, and no doubt signs showing recording has begun, she places her phone face down on the table with a startled expression on her face.

It’s not clear what the presenter was looking at on her own but we can only presume it was breaking news.

But this isn’t the first time a news reporter has tripped up on live TV.

Unfortunately, mistakes are more likely to happen when the news segment is taken outside the of the studio.
