Prof Anthony Turton, a well known academic in the Water sector, advises that all South Africans need to focus on energy efficiency to contribute to the solution to what he calls the Water/Energy/Food NEXUS. He believes that in the next 3 -- 5 years, the economics of water, energy and food will change the way we currently think.
