Veterans, workforce returners, those who have lost their jobs due to changes in technology or automation, and other career shifters have skills that can be applied across sectors. However, they may require reskilling and upskilling to not only learn new skills but learn how to leverage their previous experiences and skills to a new role and new context. With veteran employment continuing to be of crucial importance to our nation, with the recent rise in unemployment and transitioning to virtual employment, and the particularly dramatic decline of women in the workforce instigated by the COVID-19 crisis, upskilling and reskilling is more important than ever. This breakout session will focus on looking at how upskilling and reskilling can help address these issues.
