The N Kolay Istanbul Marathon was one of the few international road races that was not canceled during the pandemic. 2020, around 3,000 amateur athletes started alongside the elite runners. The Nov. 7 race will return to previous dimensions. In 2019, a record number of more than 36,000 athletes ran from Asia to Europe in the only marathon in the world whose route crosses two continents. Adding fringe events over 15km and 8km, organizers expect more than 35,000 entries for the Nov. 7 race. This will make the race one of the biggest since the start of the pandemic.
