Dated December 8, 1997, written three months after Diana’s tragic death in a car accident in Paris, a then-Prince Charles penned his letter to Peter Houghton, detailing feelings of an “unbearable emptiness”.
As Charles “longed to weave a magic wand to transform the situation”, he also spoke of the “bewilderment and confusion that accompanies the removal of someone so young from the world.”
According to the Daily Mail, the letter recently sold for AUD$3,000
