Amid economic recovery from the ongoing coronavirus worldwide, the pandemic fallouts have exacerbated global inequality between and within nations. The energy shortage in Europe and beyond caught governments in between advancing the climate change agenda and dealing with economic exigencies. With just under a decade to achieve the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, action must made at both global and local levels by a wide range of actors drawn from across government, business, and civil society groups.
All countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership, should and will implement this plan in an ambitious yet concrete way. From Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), via which vehicle can help the private sector better integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into corporate growth? How can synergies between the public and private sectors be fostered and sustained? What can be expected from China’s role in global climate governance against the backdrop of the country’s green growth agenda?
"Roundtable 2: Advancing Multi-sectoral Stakeholder Partnerships for the 2030 Agenda – The Global-Local Nexus Explained" is a part of CCG 9th China Inbound-Outbound Forum to be held in Beijing on September 2. This session was graced by perspectives from a distinguished group of ambassadors, international organization officials and entrepreneurs over the pressing agenda of SDGs and their suggestions and proposals on moving forward with global request for sustainability.
