The final part of the cafe scene in the 1988 thriller "Miracle Mile." I was watching this recently when I realized that the music that plays when Harry starts talking sounds curiously similar to the last track on Boards of Canada's new album "Tomorrow's Harvest." In interviews they have said that the album was heavily influenced by 1970s and 80s apocalypse movies, so I think that it isn't too far-fetched to believe that this could have been at least an inspiration. Plus Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack to the movie, who many people have pointed out are likely a major influence on the album's style and composition.
