I've uploaded this video in a timely fashion, coinciding with the current hype surrounding the upcoming film, "Sonic 3." What other way could be more fitting regarding my channel in recognizing Sonic the Hedgehog's elevated status as concurrently a gaming and cinematic character than to remix a theme many already reminisce, whether they played the original in the 90s, engaged in the PC/Gems Collection port, or merely watched the opening included in Sonic Mega Collection? I can express my utmost gratitude to the sound designers of Graphic Research for creating brilliant FM patches that were compatible with this rock (correct me if I misattributed the genre) theme. Like the previous Graphic Research cover (White Park Act 1), I encountered several hiccups regarding how to apply the instruments and the mixing. Fortunately, persistence led to overcoming these hindrances.
Fun fact #1: If you're wondering which Sonic CD soundtrack I prefer overall, it is the US version, although by a margin.
Fun fact #2: A sense of conformity may explain why out of the unjustifiably despised Sonic CD US soundtrack, this theme is unanimously (nearly) adored. It appears that two specific cohorts, those introduced to the US opening theme via Sonic Mega Collection's fondness of the US opening and the original players, influenced the community's perception of it. Oh, if only a revisionism were to occur one day that would forevermore diminish the stigma surrounding this misunderstood OST.
