Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F-150 Regular Cab, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW3027C. That's going to be on tire size 265/70-R17. There Glacier cable snow tire chains are perfect for the occasional use. They're going to provide you with adequate traction. Spring rollers form on the cross cables, although they're not going to provide you with as good of traction as a link style or a studded style chain, they're still going to provide you with good traction on light snow and ice, and a smoother ride, since they're low profile. Like most chains, they feature a ladder pattern, so they're going to be great for accelerating and breaking.
They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour, and they come in a quantity of two. They're also a lot easier to install than a link and hook style. We'll go ahead and show you that now.To start off, we're going to be putting tire chains on the rear tires of our F-150, because it's mostly driven by the rear axle. It a good idea to lay out your chain and make sure there's no kinks, twists, or any tangles in them. You'll also want to be sure that the hooks, the open side is facing up away from our tire, and that the lever is going to be on the outside of our tire.
Now let's drape them over our tire. I'm just going to grab here in the center, and set them in place. Now we want to make sure that they're even on both sides. An easy way to check that is to grab the cable here in the front. Feel around to the back, and make sure it's about the same. Then we'll finish draping it around, and we're going to connect the backside first.
Here on the backside, what we want to do is take our stoppers and our eyelet, and connect them together. We don't want to connect too many together though, because then we won't be able to connect the front side evenly. I know that for this tire, we're going to go with the second stopper. Here in the front, we're going to connect as many stoppers through the eyelet as we can. I know we can get that second one for sure.
We can be within one from the backside. Let's go ahead and try to get that third one. All right, cool.Once it's connected, we can then fold that lever backward, and then we're going to connect the level to the cable here. Now it may take you a few tries, but all you need to do is get it lined up with the opening, and then push it in place. Once you get both tire chains installed, the manufacturer does recommend using some rubber adjusters. What this is going to do is, it's going to help keep that cable nice and snug around the tire when we're driving in the wintry conditions. You can pick up two with part number PW105. They're very easy to install, just be sure that hook is facing away from the tire. We'll connect the top, then the bottom. Then we'll just work our way around. Once you get it installed, it is a good idea to drive a short distance. Stop get out, check to see if you need to make any adjustments. That's going to complete our test fit on the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW3027C, on our 2018 Ford F-150 Regular Cab.
