A BMW was stolen from a car lot in San Diego at 8:00 am. The Police from various agencies were playing cat & mouse with it all day. SDPD units finally tracked the car on Hwy 54 going west.
The car drove through National City at high speeds and the NCPD got involved. The suspect made his way into Chula Vista, where the SDPD started to try and pulled over the suspect. He fled south on 5th Ave and crashed into 2 parked cars, sending one of the cars on top of the other.
The suspect then fled to a house and got into the backyard and then attempted to hide in the basement of a house on the 300 block of 5th Ave. The suspect refused to come out from under the house and after several repeated call-outs by the SDPD officers. Pepper Balls were deployed and the suspect surrendered. The suspect was arrested and then transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
