Takenoko is a modular board game where players take on the role of the Japanese Emperor's Court Members who have been assigned to look after his royal garden.
The Emperor recently acquired a gift from the Chinese Emperor, a panda. Players will work on a common garden where they will cultivate plots of land, irrigate them, grow bamboo to the gardener's satisfaction and also keep the panda happy by feeding him.

Players will be competing against each other to gain the Emperor's favour however they will unknowingly be helping the other players to to reach their secret objectives. The player to completes the required number of objectives first will gain the emperor's favour and trigger the final round. The player with the most VP at the end of the game will win!
