MSC Maya, one of the largest container ship by capacity, departs Felixstowe berth 9 for her next port of Rotterdam with a draft of 13.5 metres. She departs her berth with the assistance of two tugs for a pull off the berth and then a port swing to turn her around to head out. As she is an Ultra Large Container Ships and almost 400 metres the Svitzer Deben is required for powered in-direct around the 90 degree turn out of the harbour also known as the Beach End. The Svitzer Shotley on port quarter just incase a problem arises on the turn.
