Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has come down heavily on political parties promising "freebies" to win elections, saying they must proceed with such "doles" only if the financials of their state permit. "But after winning election, you say '(Prime Minister) Modi, give me money to fulfil my guarantees'. This is misleading the public," she told NDTV in an exclusive interview.
