The Russian Imperial Romanov family were shot and bayoneted to death by Bolshevik revolutionaries under Yakov Yurovsky on the orders of the Ural Regional Soviet in Yekaterinburg on the night of 16–17 July 1918. It was believed that Anastasia actually had escaped, it became a phenomenon which is shown in the 1997 film Anastasia.

Nicholas II Alexandrovich Romanov was born in May 18th, 1868 and he passed away in July 17th, 1918. He is recognized as the last Tsar of Russia, ruling from November 1894 until his abdication on March 15th of 1917. Nicholas II of Russia was seen as a weak and indecisive political leader, which is influenced the slaughter of him and his whole family by the Bolcheviks.
Alexandra Feodorovna was born in June 6th, 1872 and she passed away in July 17th, 1918. She was the wife of Nicholas II and the last consort Empress of Russia. She was disliked because of her views on the autocratic rule of Tsardom, refusing modern democratic political reforms. She was a a granddaughter to Queen Victoria and a daughter of Louis IV. It is believed that in her marriage with the Tsar it was her who wore the pants.
Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna was born in November 15th, 1895 and she passed away in July 17th, 1918. She was the eldest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra. She was known to be a tender person, working as a nurse to help the wounded soldiers of World War 1. Her marriage was the talk of Russia, she had an array of candidates in her scope. Georve V, Prince Edward, Prince Alexander and et cetera.
Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna was born in June 10th, 1897 and she passed away in July 17th, 1918. She was the second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra. She was considered the governor of all the siblings, she was very domineering to her sisters. During World War 1, she trained to become and a nurse and helped fund many charites to help with the wounded soldiers.
Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna was born in June 26th, 1899 and she passed away in July 17th, 1918. She was the third daughter of Nicholas II and by many was considered as the prettiest. She was also very bubbly and flirty with soldiers and men at the court. She expressed a desire for having a big family.
Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna was born in June 18th, 1901 and she passed away in July 17th, 1918. She was the fourth and youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra. It was believed that either she or Maria had escaped the fate as their bodies were not found in the mass grave. This grew a lot of theories and even imposters claiming to be Anastasia. The most infamous one is Anna Anderson who was later debunked as someone with mental illness.
Alexei Nikolaevich was born in August 12th, 1904 and he passed away in July 17th, 1918. He was the youngest child and only son of Tsar Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra. He was born with haemophilia which his parents tried to treat with old peasant methods lead by the family friend, Grigory Rasputin.
Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich was born in October 7th, 1869 and he passed away in July 18th, 1918. He was son to Grand Duke Michael Nikolaievich and a first cousin to Alexander III of Russia. He followed his family tradition, serving in the military, serving as the Chief of Artillary Department during World War 1.
Princess Elisabeth of Hesse and by Rhine was born in November 1st, 1864 and she passed away in July 18th, 1918. She was the wife of Grand Duke Alexandrovich of Russia. A granddaughter to Queen Victoria, she was loved in Russia for her beauty and charitable work. Her husband was assassinated with a bomb, she publically forgave the murderers and campaigned unsuccessfuly to pardon them.
