Natural and untreated purple spinel gemstone originating from Burma (Myanmar) This weighs 1.40 CTS and has been cut and faceted into a cushion style. The measurements are approximately 5.9 x 5.7 x 4.2 mm.
The gem has spectacular optical properties and displays an almost electric looking shimmer as best seen in the supplied video. This is not a large piece but is of notable quality. Spinel is generally only available in smaller sizes. The coloring of the stone is an attractive purple /lavender tone.
This is fully transparent and has excellent clarity with slight variations found upon examination. This would be considered SI clarity.
This particular gemstone was sourced by a personal friend of mine in Bangkok who works in the gem market there. He often supplies us with some of the more rare and higher grade items in our shop.
