The Lord's Prayer.
This is the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. You can read about it in the New Testament section of the bible in the book of Matthew, Chapter 6 verses 9-13. There are a number of different translations of the original wording. They all mean the same thing and it doesn't matter to God which you choose. He will understand you. The version that we use most frequently at Great Ayton Methodist Church is:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen
