Gilbert Public Schools Board (GPSB) meeting 1-10-12:
Gilbert resident and parent Gil Fidler of Gilbert Public Schools district speaks to the conflict of schedule/interest GPSB member Hollands has with her employment with the Mesa Unifed School District

GPSB member Helen Hollands has a conflict of schedule and perhaps a conflict of interest with her employment at the Mesa Unified School District. The Board voted 3 to 2 (with Hollands casting the deciding vote!) to change the GPSB meeting agenda to satisfy Holland's conflict.

GPS policy from website "Any Board member or employee who has, or whose relative has, a substantial interest in any decision of the District shall make known such interest in the official records of the District and shall refrain from participating in any manner as a Board member or employee in such a decision. [LEGAL REF.: A.R.S. 38-503]"
