The press technique is Buddy Rhodes’ signature finish. It is achieved by using his Craftsman Mix with as little water as possible to create a dry, clay-like mix. This mix is then hand packed into the mold. Because the mix is so dry, a lot of voids occur when it is pressed into a form, creating a natural veined look.
