The #disruptj20 Future is Feminist blockade of the 10th St and E st, NW Inaugural Parade security checkpoint. The blockade was one of several similar actions by groups protesting the Inauguration. The Movement for Black Lives; Trade Justice; Climate Justice; Communities Under Attack; Quocblockade; Witness Against Torture; Standing Up for Racial Justice; and Economic Justice.
The blockade was successful due to the many people willing to put their bodies on the line to fight for what is just; and also to the flying squads of people that showed up to reinforce the lines. There were also violence from the initial arrests, to aggressive people/males who would barge through the lines--often facilitated by police--stepping, and tripping over the blockaders who were locked arm in arm.
