Rocket Lab has been managing to progress at extremely impressive speeds. Recently especially, the company has provided constant updates on big plans and ideas for the future. Not long ago this included an overview of the company’s next-generation launch vehicle named Neutron. Just yesterday they provided more information on the future launch and production site for Neutron.
Yesterday the 28th, Rocket Lab announced it selected Wallops Island, Virginia, as the location for its first launch site and extensive manufacturing and operations facilities, for its 8-ton payload class reusable Neutron rocket. Neutron is meant to change how Rocket Lab and companies within the space industry access space. This future site will be the infrastructure necessary to produce and launch Neutron rockets in the near future.
Rockets are extremely complex pieces of engineering and technology. This goes for all rockets and especially next generation launch vehicles such as Neutron. This future launch site will need to be very extensive in order to provide Rocket Lab with everything they need. Here I will go more in-depth into Rocket Lab’s most recent announcement and what it means for the future of Neutron and more.
