Zahra Ebrahim is the Founder/Principal of the design think tank and creative agency, archiTEXT. Educated at McGill University with a background in architecture, her work brings together diverse groups to tackle the intersections of architecture, design, and creativity with social change, systems change, public engagement, and creative problem solving. For the past five years, she has taught at OCAD University in the Think Tank program, and has been the co-lead on the Community. Design. Initiative., a legacy project engaging some of Canada's most marginalized youth in architecture and design in Toronto's priority neighbourhoods.
Zahra spent two years serving as Innovator in Residence at Canada's National Design Museum, is the co-founder of the Design Walk-In -- a storefront design health clinic launched in 2012, a contributor to the Huffington Post, a Strategic Partner of the Canadian team for the Venice Biennale 2012, and is actively involved in Jane's Walks.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
