Happy 250th Birthday, Ludwig! In honor of Beethoven's birthday, we're sharing this 1978 performance of his Serenade op. 25 from our archives. Itzhak Perlman performs alongside The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

The Serenade, op. 25, is a mysterious work in Beethoven's oeuvre for a few reasons. First, it was written for a unique combination of instruments: flute, violin, and viola. In addition, we have no idea when Beethoven composed it. Enjoy this remarkable performance today as we celebrate the 250th of a remarkable figure in music history!
