Not a big name, but a (reasonably) big climb none the less! It has appeared in the tour at least 5 or 6 times, and is always part of a sequence of back to back climbs, making it harder than its independent stats would suggest. In this years tour it followed the (uncatagorised) climb of the Col du Marais before immediately heading into the top of the Col des Aravis, making for a sustained and significant period of climbing! Being relatively low elevation, and on south facing slopes, heat is always a problem and this year was no exception!
