DCS- In 2019, Pakistan had a small car suicide bomb an Indian convoy of busses filled with Indian soldiers; resulting in the deaths of many. Roughly 2 weeks later, India retaliated by conducting an airstrike codenamed "Operation Bandar" near the Kashmir border in Balakot. This 21 minute strike proved to be unsuccessful on many accounts and sparked a retaliatory response the following day from Pakistan; codenamed "Operation Swift Retort." As a result of this, an Indian MiG 21 was shot down along with a friendly fire incident on their own Mi-17 helicopter, resulting in a total loss of the crewmembers.
