Is working in a restaurant where pork or alcohol is sold permissible? What does our Shari’ah say about this issue?
Our Shari'ah does not allow us to carry, transport, serve or sell alcohol in any way. We have to get out of those jobs unless there is no alternative and your living situation depends on it. As for pork, it is still haraam but the level of prohibition is much less than with alcohol. It is something that should be avoided at all costs, though can be accepted ONLY as a temporary measure to help you stay on your feet.
