Customer from Ashford got in touch saying that the front door won't open anymore and wanted me to have a look. Sure enough the mechanism failed and was keeping the door blocked. Told the customer that being an outward opening door I could easily open it and save him the need for a new lock and potentially handles. He agreed and I proceeded with opening the door.
Once the door was opened, I had a chance to measure the mechanism to order a replacement as I don't carry this particular one in stock. Customer was happy for the door to be left open until next morning as it was a porch door and nothing valuable would be left there.
Next day the new part was installed and a hell of a lot of adjustments had to be done to the door to stop is from rubbing itself into replacement :) but got there in the end.
Customer happy... everyone happy... onto the next job.
