From May 22 - May 25, 2015 three beluga whales took up residence in Manhasset Bay. During their stay, teams of two ECOs: Unger, Burdick, Helmer, Goodrich, Fay and Simmons, took turns watching over the whales and keeping onlookers at a safe distance. During the early hours of May 26, the whales moved back out into Long Island Sound and headed in a northeasterly direction.
