One of the best known actors and producers, Bruce Willis was born on 19 March 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, to an American GI father and German mother. Some of the more noted movies that Bruce has appeared in include “Pulp Fiction”, “Red”, “Die Hard”, “The Sixth Sense” and “Armageddon” in a career which began in the early 1980s.
So just how rich is Bruce Willis, as of early 2017? Celebrity dot money estimates that Bruce’s net worth is over 210 million dollars, mainly gained through his appearances in successful movies and television shows. However, Bruce is also known as a singer, and has released several albums, which have also added to his net worth, as have other business activities.
On his father’s discharge from the army, Willis’ family settled in New Jersey, where Bruce attended Penns Grove High School, and realized that he liked acting and performing on stage after becoming a part of various school events as a member of the drama club, finding this helped him control a stutter with which he was afflicted. When Bruce finished high school, he started working as a security guard, but soon began studies at Montclair State University, where he focused on acting. However, he soon moved to California, and auditioned for the television show “Miami Vice”. He secured a small role, but still a start for him in the television industry.
In 1985 Bruce was cast in the show “Moonlighting” which became popular, and so very successful financially. In 1987 Bruce was cast in his first movie role in the film “Blind Date”, in which he had an opportunity to work with such actors as Kim Basinger, William Daniels and John Larroquette. A year later Bruce secured one of his most famous roles, that of John McClane in the movie “Die Hard”. The success of this movie had a huge impact on the growth of Bruce’s net worth, and after portraying this role, Bruce received many more invitations, apart from subsequently reprising his role in all four sequels of “Die Hard”.
In 1994 Bruce appeared in another very successful movie, called “Pulp Fiction” and directed by Quentin Tarantino, working with John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman and Tim Roth. Other notable movies that Bruce has appeared in include, “Perfect Stranger”, “The Expendables”, “The Whole Nine Yards”, “Ocean’s Twelve” among many others. Recently he has been working on “First Kill” and “Death Wish”, so overall, Bruce has now been involved in almost 100 movies on the big screen, and 15 TV series and films, which include “Friends”, “Bruno the Kid”, “Roseanne” and “Mad About You”, all contributing to his healthy bank account, but unsurprising given that box office takings from his films in the US alone are over three billion dollars
During his career as an actor, Bruce has been nominated for and has won numerous awards, such as Emmy, Golden Globe, Saturn, MTV Movie Awards and many others. He has also been rewarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In 2000 Willis created his own film production company called “Cheyenne Enterprises” with Arnold Rifkin, who now runs it, and with Sylvestor Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger he is also one of the founders of “Planet Hollywood”. In 2009, he gained 3.3% ownership of Belvedere SA's Sobieski Vodka, in return for becoming their public face
To talk about his personal life, Bruce was firstly married to actress Demi Moore from 1987 until 2000, with whom he has three children. In 2009 Bruce married Emma Heming, and they have two children. He still lives in Los Angeles.
