China launched a Long March 4C (CZ-4C) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Centre China as 3:10 AM Eastern Time (0709 GMT) on 17 March 2022. It was carrying Yaogan 34-02 spy satellite. Officially this was claimed as a remote sensing/Earth observation satellite. The spacecraft is built by SAST.
The satellite is also used for land mapping, urban planning, disaster relief.
The RS-34 02 satellite was developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It forms a network operation state with the satellites of RS-34 01 and subsequent satellites already in orbit.
The satellite was carried by a Long March-4C carrier rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit.
