Heeeeey Everybody. Today I will show you how to replace the air filter and change the oil plus the filter on the Audi A5 3.0 litre TDI V6 engine. So let’s catch up with the video. Firstly undo the 7xT25 torx screws on the air filter housing. Once you have them undone unclip the intake pipe from the housing and remove the top cover of the air filter housing. By the way you can find all the parts used in the video in the description below. So don’t be shy to order them if you need them. Now you can see that the air filter is attached to the cover. In order to separate them you have to undo the 2xT15 torx screws on the air filter cover. When you finished replace the old dirty air filter with a fresh and clean new one. Secure it with the same 2xT15 Torx screws. Now let’s get back under the hood and put back the new air filter where it belongs. Play it in it’s place and start tightening the screws and finally put the two clips back to the intake piping as well.
To the second part of the video. Simply pull off the beauty cover from the engine and open the oil filler cap. Jack up and secure the vehicle and sneak underneath it. Remove the splash guard in order to get access to the oil drain plug. I bet that you will have the splash guard secured in it’s place by a variety of bolts or screws as it is not a brand new car from the factory, so just undo all of them. You will need a size 6 hex bit to break loose the oil drain plug. Drain all the oil from the engine. You can break loose the oil filter as well to get all the old oil from it drained.
Once the last drip is in the container tighten the oil drain plug back and use a new washer if possible. Now switch to the top of the car, we’ve been a long enough underneath it. So remove the oil filter but try not to make a huge mess by doing it. Take out the old oil filter from the housing and remove the old gasket on the housing. I recommend to lube the new gasket with the fresh oil in order to seal better. So put back the new gasket to the housing and push in the new oil filter as well. Now you can start to navigate it all back to it’s place. Once you done tighten it to 35NM of torque. And finally fill up the engine with oil. In our case it should be 6.9litres of 5w30 oil of your choice.
After all it is a good practice to check the level of the oil on the dipstick.
Thanks for watching, see you in the next one.
