Let us read the Bible together. Today we’ll be reading Psalms Chapter 57.
This is a psalm of prayer written by David. It was set according to the melody of “Do Not Destroy,” a special tune that the Israelites would sing during the grape harvest. It conveyed the message of not letting all kinds of suffering and oppression destroy the quality of what you have planted.
This echoed David’s plea in this psalm. He wrote this while hiding in a dark cave, as Saul’s men were approaching from all sides, ready to capture him…

Psalm 57:6
They set a net for my steps;
my soul was bowed down.
They dug a pit in my way,
but they have fallen into it themselves.
