110 leaders at COP26 have committed to stopping deforestation by 2030. Trees are important to the earth, lots of other animals rely on them and they turn carbon dioxide into oxygen, which is why the big forest of the world are often called the planets lungs. But they can't do that when they're cut down, in fact logging, deforestation and farming are responsible for a quarter of all man-made emission of carbon dioxide. Australia is on board with the new pledge along with the US, China, Russia, and Brazil the home of the world biggest forest. Some environmentalists say the promise won't end deforestation quick enough but other say it a good start.
METHANE EMISSIONS
More than 100 countries have agreed to cut their methane emissions but Australia's not one of them. Methane is a greenhouse gas which is released in landfill and during oil and gas extraction and by animals. It's thought to be the second biggest contributor to global warming - after Carbon Dioxide. That's why many countries - including the US and the EU - have agreed to cut their methane emissions by 30 percent in the next decade. But Australia has refused - along with China, Russia, and India. Australia's energy minister says the government doesn't want to focus on a specific greenhouse gas as it heads towards net zero emissions.

The rocks which were brought back by China's Change'e-5 space mission are the youngest ever found on the moon which means our rocky satellite had active volcanoes spewing out lava for longer than we thought. Before this discovery, the youngest rocks from the moon were 3 billion years old from NASA's Apollo missions in the 70s
