The F-5E Tiger II was introduced in Red Skies along with the F-5C. These two fighters gave the US a jet at top tier that doesn't rely on avionics and missiles, but rather maneuverability and energy retention. The Soviet top dog is the MiG-21bis with a considerable array of air-to-air missiles and an excellent thrust-to-weight ratio. However, the delta wing of the MiG may work against it by crushing its speed. In a rate fight, the F-5E should win, but in a scissor, the MiG-21bis will take out the Tiger II almost every time.
