For earthen dam making, first of all stripping is done. second procedure is grouting. In grouting 7 to 8 m holes are drilled in zig zack shape or according to drawing and cement and Bentonite mixture is filled with pressure by the means of packers in that drilled hole. then cut off trench (cot)is excavated by machines this is the trapezoidal in shape. all the level are taken from NSL which is natural surface level COT of 2 m is sufficient in saddle work. then soil from borrow area is poured in the bed of COt. and compaction is done in layers by sheep foot roller.
