The new N2 Wild Coast Road will provide a national route that improves the east coast region of South Africa while reducing road-user costs and optimising safety, comfort and socio-economic benefits.
The proposed route alignment will connect major economic centres, including East London, Butterworth, Mthatha, Lusikisiki, Port Edward, Port Shepstone and Durban & would be approximately 69km shorter than the existing N2 route between East London and Durban via Mount Frere.
