On April 12, 2024, Yanis Varoufakis was scheduled to deliver a speech in Germany advocating for Palestinian rights and addressing Israel's ongoing siege and genocidal campaign on Gaza.
Instead, German police raided the conference venue and prevented Varoufakis from speaking. His unpublished speech expressed solidarity with both Jews and Palestinians. This was one of many recent incidents that have used a severe disingenuous attempt at weaponizing anti-Semitism to silence pro-Palestine Jewish voices for peace and allies.
