The truth about the SS-5 Incident as well as the revelation that Simon Fenn's father was enough to shock the kid. But it seems our work investigating isn't finished. Far from it.

Edgeworth has a tussle with Agent Lang, and they learn in regard to a certain drawing. Turns out the one responsible for the death of Di-Jun Wang, the original was Bodhidharma Kanis. They learn that it wasn't a kidnapping, but an assassination. And the death of Alf Aldown turned out to be a homicide. All because he saw it all and we learn that the president that Edgeworth and everyone else met wasn't the real president. He was a body double. Made even better by the fact that Bodhidharma Kanis testifies to it. Yep. Excelsius Winner. Fifi Laguarde and the fake president. They all were complicit.

He reveals that the body double hated risking his own life for someone who didn't take him for granted. He harbored animosity toward his employer. So, he decided to get rid of the real president and take his place. He sought aid from Excelsius Winner, to get the info needed. He learned that the real Wang knew someone named Amelie Fenn and that he was to meet her at the Happy Family Home on February 10 at midnight. But it never happened. Instead, President Wang met Kanis, and it was at that day he lost his life. But something else happened. Excelsius, Fifi and the fake were set to get rid of Kanis. That never happened because a young boy at the orphanage helped him get to safety, hence why he also caused the fire.

But Kanis mentions that he had saved some children 18 years ago. Remember that? The same time as the IS-7 Incident where Carmelo Gusto murdered Artie Frost/Paul Halique. Kanis spotted two children trapped in a car whose doors were frozen shut. Kanis was able to get the two out and dropped them off to the orphanage. Due to the trauma of the incident, both children suffered memory loss.

It's also here we learn some bitter truths. For starters they learn that Paul Halique had a son. A son who went onto be Bronco Knight... Bronco Halique. And as for the other kid, his father was never found. They also learned that there was a middleman in terms of chess. A middleman that may be the very person they're looking for. We finally learn who is the true mastermind responsible for everything... Simeon Saint, or should we say Simeon Gusto. And they know because they heard the sound of a hot air balloon.

You know what this means right? Time to confront this madman in Part 8.

Despite Edgeworth’s success, a problem still lingers after receiving word from Shelly DeKiller. No sooner than a few hours later, another murder occurs, and it involves the death of the Zheng Fa president. He along with his allies investigate only to get involved in a kidnapping plot followed by another kidnapping AND THEN another murder. Are all of these incidents connected to some sort of dark secret? Edgeworth goes all out hoping to piece together the truth all while rediscovering the prosecutor’s path in this grand, unforgettable finale.
