Chicken Bhindi Recipe||Bhindi Gosht Recipe
Here's a simple recipe for Chicken Bhindi (Okra)
Ingredients:
- 1000gm chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1000gm okra (bhindi), sliced
- one cup tablespoons oil
- 2large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 5 green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Okra
- Wash and dry the okra. Slice them into 1-inch pieces. Ensure the okra is dry to avoid sliminess during cooking.
2. Cook the Chicken
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
3. Cook the Okra
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Add the sliced okra and sauté until they are tender and slightly crispy. Remove the okra from the pan and set aside.
4. Prepare the Masala
- In the same pan, add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts separating from the mixture.
5. Add Spices
- Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for a few minutes until the spices are well combined and the oil begins to separate from the masala.
6.Combine Everything
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan and mix well with the masala. Cook for a few minutes so the chicken absorbs the flavors.
- Add the cooked okra to the pan, mix gently to combine everything, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
7.Finish and Serve
- Sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix gently.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with roti, paratha, or rice. Enjoy your Chicken Bhindi!
