This video tells the story of Better Block PDX's implementation of Better Naito during the summer of 2015. You will hear from many of the community organizations, volunteers, City staff, and festival organizers about their successful work to transform one of Portland's most iconic streets. The story of Better Naito reveals the power of public engagement, partnership, and collaboration.
PBOT appreciates Better Block PDX's leadership in providing temporary installations that help the community envision Portland's future as a healthier, more vibrant, and greener city.
PBOT is happy to partner with community organizations that are working to improve, innovate, and provide data for how to best utilize our city's largest public space, its streets.
PBOT would like to thank Clif Bar, People for Bikes, and METRO for their generous funding that made this project possible. PBOT would also like to thank the community partners, volunteers, Portland State University, Commissioner Novick's office, and festival organizers for putting in time, expertise, and funding to make this project a reality.
