In October 2016, the Islamic State (IS) was finally defeated and the territory of the Nineveh Plain in northern Iraq was recaptured. The terrorists were gone, but the desolation they left behind was appalling.
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) and other organizations did not want to leave the Christians to themselves. They launched a kind of great "Marshall Plan" to rebuild the towns and villages of this territory where the first Christian communities in Iraq and the world were born! This is the largest project ever undertaken by Aid to the Church in Need in its 75 years of existence. And, thanks to the benefactors, hope has returned and life can once again flourish.
