For the summer season, Lambton Colliery Railway Tank No.29 takes a visit away from her home of the North Yorkshire Moors to the western region sheds of Didcot Railway Centre. Here we catch the loco running shuttles up and down the main demonstration line at Didcot, along with GWR 1340 'Trojan'. Built in 1897 by the Avonside Engine Company, 1340 is the oldest GWR locomotive currently in operation.
From oldest to the newest, we also take a look at new build Saint Class 2999 'Lady of Legend'. With none of the original Saints surviving into preservation, 2999 was constructed by the Great Western Society at Didcot and was completed in 2019. She sits outside the main sheds alongside GWR King Class 6023 'King Edward II' and GWR 57xx Pannier Tank 3738.
