Armed insurgents attacked the Indian Consulate General in the western Afghan city of Herat on May 23.
The attackers were armed with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades and opened fire on the consulate from a nearby house, according to reports.
Police said all of the gunmen were killed, and that two police officers were wounded. All staff at the consulate were reported to have escaped unharmed.
