Causes of Heavy menstrual bleeding:
Uterine-related problems.
Benign and malignant tumors can cause heavy bleeding.
Benign growths are more common and include Fibroids and Polyps.
Cancer of the uterus or cervix also can cause Heavy menstrual bleeding.
The probability of Cancers increases with age.
Pregnancy related Bleedings:
Problems related to pregnancy, such as a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, can cause abnormal bleeding.
Hormone-related problems can also cause heavy bleedings.
Other illnesses and causes are rare.
Adolescent period volume.
The amount, length, and frequency of periods around the time of menarche can vary greatly.
And menstrual bleeding can be irregular and different for a few years after your first period.
As you progress through adolescence, period amounts and cycles become more regular.
