A Karnataka BJP MLA's son was caught taking a bribe worth Rs 40 lakhs and has been arrested in relation to the case. Despite the arrest, the Opposition parties in the state are attacking the ruling Basavaraj Bommai Government. A cash haul of Rs 8 crore was also found from the residence of the accused.
