A short film chronicling my 500-mile adventure to experience totality during the 2017 Great American Solar Eclipse. Filmed in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
Originally destined for South Carolina, I changed my plans last minute due to unfavorable weather and pushed myself further west. At the start of this film, I commented that I was leaving for Athens, TN, where I had obtained a ticket for a parking space at a massage clinic the next morning. However, this would not be a place I could sleep, so I kept my options open and hoped I could find Wal-Mart an acceptable place. At the time, I could not image that Wal-Mart would let people flood their parking lot for this event, especially considering that people were charging $20-50 all over town for the privilege. When I arrived in Sweetwater I was surprised to see others camping out in their vehicles, so I deemed it to be a good place to rest and hold out. Though Athens was only ten miles further down the road, I decided to make my stand at that Wal-Mart parking lot.
